Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Wednesday flat, ending at 9,763.67, down 1.55%, as sales increased towards the close with the impact of domestic news flow. The Industrial Index lost 1.49% and the Banking Index fell 0.82%. The recent pace of political news flow has limited interest in the BIST, and related developments in this area will remain important. In the minutes of the Fed's latest meeting, which were followed in global markets yesterday, the emphasis was on on readiness to keep interest rates constant due to high inflation and uncertainty over economic policies. The appearance that the Fed would keep the interest rate constant, rather than increasing it despite inflation risks supported the risk appetite. Yet, the U.S. stock markets closed midweek with rises. This morning German DAX futures are trading positively while the U.S. futures and Asian stock markets in general are trending negatively. We expect the markets to monitor ceasefire talks between the USA and Russia, and Trump's statements. The data agenda is quiet today. The VIOP30 Index ended the evening session down 0.31%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Thursday flat and follow a fluctuating course thereafter. SUPPORT: 9,650 - 9,550 RESISTANCE: 9,850 - 9,950.
