Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Monday negatively, continuing that trend thereafter to close at 9,845.85, down 1.06%. The Industrial Index lost 0.73% and the Banking Index fell 0.83%. The lack of short-term supportive expectations for the BIST causes the bourse to remain volatile and weak. Meanwhile, fluctuations in global risk appetite are also reflected on the BIST. In global markets, the U.S. and European stock markets closed with increases. With the Trade Wars in full swing President Trump has signed an order to impose a 25% customs duty on steel and aluminum imports from all countries. Related developments increase volatility in global markets. This morning, German DAX futures and U.S. futures are negative and Asian stock markets are mixed. We expect the markets to remain focused on the trade wars. Fed Chairman Powell's two-day midterm presentations to the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives begin today. His words in the question-and-answer section may cause fluctuations in the tense markets. The VIOP30 Index closed the evening session down 0.25%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Tuesday flat and then continue to fluctuate. SUPPORT: 9,750 - 9,650 RESISTANCE: 9,950 - 10,150.
