Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Friday flat, tracing a fluctuating uptrend throughout the day to close at 9,951.65, up 1.11%. While the Industrial Index gained 1.46% the Banking Index diverged negatively, down 0.90%. The weekly loss of the BIST100 Index, which had followed a fluctuating course, was 0.53%. The lack of any supportive developments for the BIST recently as contributed to its negative outlook. In its first inflation report of the year the CBRT increased its 2025 year-end inflation forecast to 24% with a rise of 2.2 points. The CBRT stated that it was "not on autopilot" regarding its monetary policy stance and that interest rate decisions would be reviewed at each meeting. On the global side risk appetite remained weak on Friday. Non-farm employment data in the USA rose by 143k in January, below the expectation of a 175k increase. Following the announced data, the U.S. and European stock markets closed the week with a decline. Markets start the new week following the trade wars. While China announced that it would impose additional customs duties on certain U.S. products, President Trump announced a 25% customs duty on steel and aluminum imports. German DAX and U.S. futures havev followed a positive trend this morning, and a slightly positive trend has also prevailed among Asian stock markets. The VIOP30 Index ended the Friday evening session down 0.19%. This week global markets will follow President Trump's statements, as well as inflation data from the U.S. plus Fed Chairman Powell's messages in his presentation to Congress. We expect the Benchmark Index to start the week flat and follow a fluctuating course thereafter. SUPPORT: 9,850 - 9,750 RESISTANCE: 10,150 - 10,250.
