Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Friday on a positive trend, where it remained throughout the day, closing at 10,075.17, up 1.14%. The Industrial Index rose by 1.05%, while the Banking Index recorded a 0.52% increase. On a weekly basis, the BIST100 gained 0.50%, the Industrial Index advanced by 0.41%, and the Banking Index outperformed with a 1.54% increase. The BIST entered 2025 with optimism following the CBRT's 250 bps cut in December. Additionally, the December CPI figure announced on Friday came in at 1.03%, below expectations, reinforcing the belief that further rate cuts could continue in the first half of the year; this has supported interest in the BIST. Under current conditions, expectations that rate cuts will primarily benefit banks, and then gradually the real sector companies, are likely to continue driving the BIST, led by banking stocks. Although occasional profit-taking may occur, we expect it to be short-lived, and any sharp pullbacks will present buying opportunities. On the global front, trading volumes were low early last week due to the Christmas holidays, while risk appetite weakened upon the return from the break. Incidents in the U.S. at the start of the year weighed on risk sentiment. Most major stock markets ended the week with declines. We expect global markets to remain driven by data releases this week. As of this morning, the U.S. futures are mixed, the German DAX is trading positively, and most Asian markets are facing selling pressure. The VIOP30 Index closed Friday's evening session with a flat positive trend, gaining 0.02%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Monday on a positive trend and maintain its upward momentum throughout trading. SUPPORT: 9,950 - 9,850 RESISTANCE: 10,150 - 10,250.
