Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

Outlook:
The BIST100 Index started Tuesday on a negative trend, attempted a recovery, but closed at 9,830.56 down 0.60%. The Industrial Index lost 0.07% and the Banking Index fell 0.62%. While profit-taking continues at the BIST, having started with the realization of interest rate cut expectations, volatility remains high due to the effect of low transaction volumes. Profit selling continues in the short term, yet we maintain our positive medium-to-long-term expectations for the BIST due to the expected positive effects of the start to interest rate cuts. On the global side, on Tuesday, some European stock markets and the Japanese stock market were closed for a full day, and certain European and Asian stock markets were closed for a half-day holiday. Generally, open Asian and European stock markets and the U.S. stock markets saw profit selling on Tuesday. While transaction volume remains low due to Christmas mood and a calm data agenda, transaction volumes should normalize now the New Year holiday is over. This morning, the U.S. futures are trading positively, the German DAX is slightly negative, the the Japanese stock market is closed due to a holiday, and most of the open Asian stock markets are negative. December manufacturing PMI data will be followed today in the country, the USA and Europe. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Thursday positively, and to trend upwards if intraday selling pressure is met. SUPPORT: 9,750 - 9,650 RESISTANCE: 9,950 - 10,100.
