Outlook:

The BIST100 Index started Monday flat and followed a bearish trend from the opening. The Benchmark Index closed at 8,654.39, down 1.58%. The Industrial Index and Banking Index decreased by 1.02% & 3.08%, respectively. The BIST continues to lose momentum due to weak short-term expectations. Despite weak company balance sheets for the third quarter and postponed interest rate cut expectations, the fact that alternative income instruments offer high returns limits interest in the bouse. As long as these risks continue, we expect the short-term weak course at the BIST to be maintained. On the global side, major stock markets started the new week with a decline. Yesterday, most of U.S. and European stock markets closed with a decline. Despite our expectation of global risk appetite remaining strong as long as interest rate cut expectations are maintained, prices indicating that the Fed will keep the interest rate constant in November have increased following the recent dovish statements of certain Fed members. While such expectations support the the Dollar, they may cause profit-taking in alternative assets. In addition, developments regarding the U.S. Presidential election set for November 5 and the crisis in the Middle East continue to be followed. This morning, Asian stock markets and U.S. futures are sold while German DAX futures are priced positively. The VIOP30 Index gained 0.19% in the evening session. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Tuesday with reaction purchases, and to attempt a rise later in the day if selling pressure prompts buying. SUPPORT: 8,500 - 8,400 RESISTANCE: 8,750 - 8,850.
